Monday: printed note stuck to the door saying tomorrow “professional curb painting service” will be putting our address on the curb. Tuesday: wrong address painted on the curb. Tonight: knock at the door wanting to collect a $15 donation for the service. Apology for wrong address….they’ll fix it tomorrow. Do I want to help them out with a donation? Me: “No.” He: “How about tomorrow after we fix it?” Me: “No, probably not.” He: “Shall I knock on the door again tomorrow to see if you change your mind?” Me: “You can knock.”
Does this happen at your house?

The curb painters came by a few months ago. They left a note advertising their service and asked that if we wanted to partake then we were to leave the form filled out and (I think with money) and they’d come by and collect and paint.
My response was to do nothing. A few days later they ended up coming down our street and only stopped at one house, picked up the form (and I presume the money) did their quick scrubbing and painting and were gone.
Here they Just leave a note. But they paint whether you want them to or not, and try to collect for it afterwards. He wouldn’t have even known it was the wrong address painted on our curb unless I’d told him. He had to ask for the correct address.
That’s pretty funny.
So how does it work…does the city hire out to some third party group to do it?
Ahhhh. Just recently the REAL city curb painters showed up and painted over the imposters’ work and wanted more money. They weren’t happy that they had been preceeded.
