For me, it’s a scientific fascination with the biological consequences of substance use. Human body+cigarettes+alcohol+meth/orwhathaveyou = OLD.

I think the key difference that makes this OK is that it causes you to feel grateful for what you have. So I guess it depends on what you do with it. If you use it merely for vanity and to think you’re better than others (for something you can’t even control), then that’s sad. But if it simply makes you feel grateful, that’s OK I think. Same thing for when you see someone worse off than yourself financially or health-wise. It can be a reminder of how you’ve been blessed.

The 10:45 set was noticeably more energetic than the first service. Funny what a small increase in tempo can do.

Finance decisions are tough, especially when there’s some risk involved. Hope it all goes well.

I don’t know the specifics of your large financial decision but I also pray for wisdom, clarity and peace for you guys.

For New Years in Las Vegas they grease the light poles so people don’t climb them and hurt themselves. I love hilariously simple solutions for the problem of human self-injury, accidental or otherwise.

Yes, did see the movie, thus the inspiration for the title. We liked it too. Streep channeled Julia perfectly. And who knew all those things about her!

And yes, Nathan, it is pretty funny in an odd, twisted kind of way. The article I copied was even complete with the yummy photo of butter. Thanks for the link to the info on the GGB.

On a (title and butter) related note, have you seen Julie and Julia? We enjoyed it.
