On my way home from walking this morning I noticed something about our lemon tree. There weren’t any lemons on it. Where’d they go? Last time I looked there were about a dozen. When did the lemon bandit come into my yard and harvest my lemon crop?????
Los limones son moneda
time for locked gates and barbed wire.
I blame stupid junior highers, it’s the only explanation.
I dunno. I think maybe jr highers have better things to do on their way to and from school, but I could be wrong about that. Besides there were no signs of lemons being thrown, which is what stupid junior highers might do with them.
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
Lindsay, you silly girl. Did you make a lemon meringue pie? That’s how I would have used some of them. Anyhow I doubt you walked off with all my lemons….maybe half of ‘em, but surely not all. I’ve contemplated putting a nice, large, hand-lettered sign on the tree saying, “It’s not nice to steal.”
Sorry for your lemon loss.
Now I want some homemade lemon meringue pie. yummy : )
I had the same thing happen to my peach tree in the alley this year. Maybe 80-90 peaches on it and my only harvest was 20 smallish ones. Silly people probably saw them turn red-orange, and plucked them early, expecting them to ripen. My only consolation is knowing that they won’t fully ripen if plucked early, and the thieves probably got rock hard but pretty peaches!
